Join the NexGen Builders Mentoring Program

Join the movement to build a legacy for the next generation of construction trades workers and professionals. *Note that due to the Covid-19 Emergency Response, TCBN, in partnership with Aecon, will conduct training online and will compensate selected mentees and peer mentors up to $500 to remove any barriers to participation plus an additional $500 honorarium for peer mentors.

The Mentoring Program includes:

Who can have a mentor?

Black, Indigenous and newcomer communities, with priority for women and youth, who are in the process of preparing for work or who have been recently employed as apprentices or professionals in the construction industry.

Does this sound like you?

  • Committed and ready to pursue a career in construction trades
  • Preparing for work: in pre-apprenticeship or job seeking
  • Recently employed in construction as apprentice
  • Wants the support of a mentor
Become a Mentee

Who can be a mentor?

Potential mentors should meet most of the following criteria.

Does this sound like you?

  • Currently work in the construction sector
  • Have completed a construction apprenticeship or is an experienced professional in the industry
  • Peer Mentors - Is at least a 2nd year apprentice and recognized as a leader
  • Be willing to commit for at least 1 year
  • Understand the challenges underrepresented groups face and want to see them succeed in the construction industry
